Taylor County Historical Society scrapbooks, 1815-1980.

These are scrapbooks compiled by the Taylor County Historical Society which was organized on January 21, 1869 by Mrs. Buel Tucker of Campbellsville, Kentucky. They contain newspaper clippings and correspondence of the society (1972); historical documents, such as the deed transferring the land of modern day Campbellsville from Thomas Richeson to Andrew Campbell (July 28, 1815); circuit court and county clerk records; meeting minutes; pamphlets; and photographs of the society (1970-1980).

Andrew Campbell lived in Ireland, his brother Hugh in Philadelphia. Their brother Robert (1804-1879) was involved in the Rocky Mountain fur trade and lived in St. Louis, although he was visiting East while Andrew was in the country.
